Badger Mt. Trail Usage
May 10, 2009 - More than 59,000 hikers in the past 12 months!
If you're a regular hiker on Badger Mt., you know that you're rarely alone on the trails. Our community is taking advantage of the fresh air, sunshine, and exercise that hikers enjoy on the two main trails. There's also the mental and spiritual exhiliration that happens when we leave civilization behind and walk to a mountaintop, even a local and quite accessible one like Badger.
Not only are the trails rarely empty, but by actual count over 59,000 people have hiked up the two Badger Mountain trails in the last year (5/10/08 thru 4/26/09). You might not have known you were being counted as you took to the trail, but at the base of each trail there is an electronic counter that keeps track each time someone walks by.
The images below tell the story for the two trails for two recent months and the past year. The data was collected, collated, and put into the graphs by Friends of Badger Mountain board member David Comstock, whom we thank for his valuable work.
